I’ve been an Audiophile since the 70’s and have heard some wonderful, memorable Audio.
Back in November of last year, I had to travel to Edmonton, AB, to buy the stunning Astell&Kern AK120, which simply has to be heard to be believed.
Coincidentally, the night before I left, I had read Tyll’s, owner of Inner Fidelity, review of the extraordinary NAD VISO HP50 Headphones which had just been released.
Here’s a LINK
If you want to by a personal audio player that plays incredibly detailed audio, priced at $1499 Cdn, ouchie mama… you’re going to need headphones that will do it justice.
Based solely on his review of the NAD’s, which he positively raved about on his website and placed on his ‘Wall Of Fame’, I have great regard for his opinions.
I did purchase a pair of the HP50’s and they are completely outstanding in every regard.
Along with those I also own a pair of Shure SE535 Earbuds, which retail for $500.
I’m a very, very picky audio guy.
On the flip side, I’ve held nothing but disdain for the audio quality of ‘Beats’.
I cannot listen to them for even 30 seconds. I’ve tried and tried and can’t yank them off of my head fast enough.
They’re incredibly bass heavy, muffled, muted, horrid sonically…. there’s little more to say.
Music does not, and never should sound this bloody awful.
The mere thought of Apple gobbling up this garbage had me reeling in disbelief.
A faint glimmer of hope on the horizon?
If I hadn’t heard this from Tyll himself, I would never, ever have believed it.
There might just be something here…. and at $200?
Enjoy the review
